Tupac “2pac” Shakur was born on June 16, 1971 and died September 13, 1996. He was an American rapper. He has sold over 75 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. MTV ranked him at number two on their list of The Greatest MCs of All Time and Rolling Stone named him the 86th Greatest Artist of All Time. His double disc album All Eyez on Me is one of the best selling hip hop albums of all time. During the latter part of his career, was a vocal participant in the so-called East Coast–West Coast hip hop rivalry, becoming involved in conflicts with other rappers, producers and record-label staff members, most notably The Notorious B.I.G. and his label Bad Boy Records. According to relatives of 2pac his real name was Lesane Parish Crooks. 2pac was engaged to Kidada Jones at the time of his death in 1996. 2pac was previously married to Keisha Morris-Shakur before they split up. His mother, Afeni Shakur, and his father, Billy Garland, were active members of the Black Panther Party in New York in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
2pac`s father Billy Garland not to be confused with the famous guitarist Billy Garland. Billy Garland (Tupac father) was absent for most of his son`s life. When 2pac was shot on the night of November 30, 1994 when he was robbed and shot five times by three men in the lobby of Quad Recording Studios in Manhattan, his father who he though was dead came to see him in the hospital and they reunited. Tupac another time on September 7, 1996, where he received multiple gunshots in a drive-by shooting at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Koval Lane in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was taken to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, where he died six days later.
