Essence Magazine awarded Sanaa the OMAR for Best Actress. BET allowed fans to select winners for which Sanaa won Best Actress for her role in Love & Basketball (2000) in the motion picture category as well as Best Actress in the television movie or mini-series category for her role in Disappearing Acts. The online magazine Reelimagemagazine.com also allowed fans and an expert panel to select winners for its awards. Again Sanaa won Best Actress for her role in Love & Basketball (2000).

Ashanti was born  Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas on October 13, 1980. She is an American recording artist, record producer, dancer, and actress once signed to Murder Inc Records with Irv Gotti. She produced many hit songs under the record label in the early 2000`s doing collaboration with rapper JaRule. Ashanti is most famous for her album, which featured the hit song “Foolish”, and sold over 503,000 copies in its first week of release throughout the U.S. in April 2002. The album set a Soundscan record as the biggest opening week sales for a new female artist, outselling debuts by Alicia Keys and Lauryn Hill. In the same week, she became the first female performer to simultaneously hold the top two places on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with “Foolish”, and “What’s Luv?” (with Fat Joe). She is is an American singer-songwriter and recording artist from Los Angeles, California. Formerly signed to The Ultimate Group and Epic Records, she left both labels in order to continue her education. Jhené Aiko began her career being known as “Lil’ Fizz’s cousin”, however she is not actually related to him. It was used as a marketing tool suggested by Sony and Epic to promote her through the R&B group B2K and attract an audience, though Aiko affirms that she and Lil’ Fizz grew up together and were close like family. She is the daughter of Christina Yamamoto and Dr. Karamo Chilombo (birth name Greg Barnes), a pediatrician. She is of mixed race background, her mother is of Japanese, Spanish, and Dominican descent, while her father is of African American, Yaqui, Choctaw, Cherokee, Navajo, and German Jewish descent.

Kris Stephens is a new female artist an R & B singer. In March 2013, T.I. and B.o.B filmed the music video in Los Angeles for “Memories Back Then”, alongside Kendrick Lamar and Kris Stephens. The music video for “Memories Back Then”, directed by Philly Fly Boy, was released April 22, 2013.

Bad Timing (1980) was the first of six acclaimed indie films starring Russell directed by her future husband Nicolas Roeg, whom she married in 1982. Other Roeg/Russell collaborations include Insignificance, Eureka, Track 29, Cold Heaven, and Aria.
