She is a singer and an actress, known for Moesha (1996) as Deidra “Dee” Mitchell, It’s a Living (1980) and Instant Mom (2013). Sheryl Lee Ralph also originated the role of Deena Jones in the Broadway musical Dreamgirls (1981). She has been married to Vincent Hughes since July 30, 2005. She was previously married to Eric Maurice. Her father was African-American and her mother Afro-Jamaican.She was raised between Mandeville, Jamaica, and Long Island.
Fantasia was born Fantasia Monique Barrino on June 30, 1984. She is an American R&B singer, songwriter, and actress. She rose to fame as the winner of the third season of the reality television series American Idol in 2004. Following her victory, Fantasia Barrinos released her debut single, “I Believe,” which debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Subsequently, she released her debut album, Free Yourself, which went on to be certified Platinum by the RIAA and garnered Barrino three Grammy nominations in 2006.
