Beres Hammond  was born Hugh Beresford Hammond on 28th August 1955 in Annotto Bay, Saint Mary, Jamaica. He is a reggae singer/musician known for his romantic lovers rock and soulful voice in reggae music. His career began in the 1970s but he became more popularly known in the 1990s. His 2012 album One Love, One Life topped the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. In January 2014 it was nominated for a Grammy Award. Isaac Hayes  was born Isaac Lee Hayes, Jr. on August 20th 1942. He grew up picking cotton in Covington, Tennessee. He became an American songwriter, musician, singer, actor, and voice actor. Isaac Hayes was one of the creative influences behind the southern soul music label Stax Records, where he served both as an in-house songwriter and as a record producer, teaming with his partner David Porter during the mid-1960s. Isaac Hayes, David Porter, Bill Withers, the Sherman Brothers, Steve Cropper, and John Fogerty were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005 in recognition of writing scores of notable songs for themselves, the duo Sam & Dave, Carla Thomas, and others. Isaac Hayes was a multi-talented composer, singer and arranger who plays the piano, vibraphone and saxophone equally well. In 1971 he won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for a Motion Picture for the “Theme from Shaft” (1970) and was nominated for Best Original Dramatic Score for Shaft (1971). The hit song “Soul Man”, written by Hayes and Porter and first performed by Sam & Dave, has been recognized as one of the most influential songs of the past 50 years by the Grammy Hall of Fame. The song was also honored by The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, by Rolling Stone magazine, and by the RIAA as one of the Songs of the Century. On August 10th 2008 Isaac Hayes died.
